ABOUT AYURVEDA
Ayurveda is a word of two different words. They are Ayu and Veda. Here Ayu means Life and Veda means Science. So, Ayurveda is the most ancient Science of Life. It aims to cure the disease and maintains the health of the healthy individual. It is not a system of preventive medicine, it provides healthful and wealthy to an individual. Ayurveda calls for self care and also development of positive routines and rituals that will help to bring out the best in us. Ayurveda does not see beauty as a cosmetic affair. A thorough understanding of ayurveda reveals that it is not merely a medical system dealing with physical symptoms, but a wonderful science that teaches one to attain self realization and attain a permanent state of joy and happiness. This treatment system can cure even diseases for which modern medicine doesn’t have remedies.
Ayurveda is a science dealing not only with treatment of some diseases but is a complete way of life. Process of Disease
According to Ayurveda, Health is a state of balance between the body, mind and consciousness. Within the body, ayurveda recognizes three doshas, seven dhatus, three malas and agni. Disease is a condition of disharmony in any of these factors. The root cause of imblanace or disease is aggrevation of tridoshas.
Body
According the Ayurveda Every Individual Was Made Up Of Five Elements. These Five Elements are Structural Aspect Of An Individual. Namely;
- Ap or Water
- Tejas or Fire
- Vayu or Air
- Akash or Space
Functional Aspects Of The Body Are Governed by Three Biological Elements. Earth and Air combine to form as Vata dosha.Vata governs the principles of movement force which directs nerve impulses, circulation, respiration and elimination.
Fire and Water combine to form as pitta dosha. Pitta dosha governs the process of transformation or metabolism. Pitta is also responsible for metabolism in the organ and tissue systems. The Digestive System in our body resembles Pitta dosha.
Water and Earch combine to form the kapha dosha. Kapha supports the physical structure of the organism. It nourishes and lubricates the tissues of the body. Kapha is the ojas and bala of the body.
Prakruti
Types of Prakruthi:ย There are seven body types. They are Mono Type (Vata, Pitta and Kapha), Dual Type (Vata-Pitta, Pitta-Kapha, Kapha-Vata) and Equal Type (Vata, Pitta and Kapha in Equal Proportion).
Mind
Ayurveda Classifies Human Temperaments into Three Basic Qualities. They Are Satvic, Rajasic and Tamasic. Satvic, Purity and Clarity of Perception. Which are Responsible for Goodness and Happiness. Rajasic, Movements and Activities. Leads to Sensual Enjoyment, Pleasure and Pain, Effort and Restlessness. Tamasic, Darkness, Inertia, Heaviness and Materialistic Attitudes.
